Seven Layer Cookies - Mom's recipe

INGREDIENTS

4 eggs

2 sticks butter softened

1/2 t vanilla

8 oz almond paste

1 c sugar

1 c flour

1 bag of semi sweet chocolate chips strawberry or apricot jam

food coloring red and green for the italian flag

INSTRUCTIONS

Beat eggs then add sugar and butter and beat more

Grate almond paste and add to the mixture

Add flour and beat until smooth

Divide the batter into 3 equal bowls

Make 1 bowl red and 1 bowl green with 3-4 drops food coloring

Grease 3 small baking sheets with butter and spread batter in each one

Bake at 375 degrees for 8-12 minutes

Let the cakes cool
